First Quarter 2018

The first quarter of 2018 proved extremely successful for NRS Group, with over £15M of new contracts secured.

Our Power Solutions business continues to expand, with the award of the Erskine Transformer Replacement Balance of Plant contract from SPEN securing another package of HV Electrical works for the team. Works will involve the replacement of the existing 30MVA 132/33kV Grid Transformers with two new 60MVA units at Erskine Substation and the associated 132kV Bays including all the 33kV cable works, terminations and testing. In addition, the main site LVAC and LVDC systems shall be replaced and a new Diesel Generator will be installed and connected. NRS Group will install, test and commission all main equipment and the Protection and Control schemes and associated interfaces. Works are anticipated to commence Summer 2018 and run to Autumn 2019.

Having completed numerous refurbishment and extension schemes in the last 18 months for Lidl UK, we were delighted to secure our first new-build store for the company in the UK in Q1 this year. The scheme in Yoker, Glasgow commenced in late February and is due to be completed in October 2018. This scheme represents another great addition to our portfolio of new-build retail projects throughout the UK and Ireland.

As reported in reNews last month, NRS Group has also been appointed to undertake the design and build of the proposed Operation and Maintenance Building for the East Anglia One Offshore Wind Farm at the Port of Lowestoft. Site works will commence on this shared use Warehouse/Office facility in May, and are scheduled for Completion Spring 2019. This is our second scheme on the EA One Project following the award of the Onshore Substation last year, and we look forward to continuing our commitment to this significant project throughout the next 12 months.

In addition to the above schemes our commitment to Local Authority projects continues, with works commencing last week on the refurbishment of a Waste Transfer Station for Renfrewshire Council at Linwood. Work is also scheduled to start on a road improvements scheme for Argyll and Bute Council in Dubeg, Oban towards the end of May.

These new awards represent the versatility of NRS Group, continuing to deliver across numerous sectors within Building, Civil Engineering and Power Solutions throughout the UK.
